IHMS is currently seeking qualified and experienced Intensive Care Paramedics to assist us working at our Offshore Immigration Detention Centre clinic.
Intensive Care Paramedic
Supporting clinic staff, you will be required to provide emergency and primary health care to detainees.
Key responsibilities:
- Initiate emergency response, resuscitation and stabilisation of critically ill or injured patients, employing ALS emergency medical protocols; Provide first aid and primary healthcare to detainees;
- Diagnosis and treatment of non-emergency medical conditions as per IHMS treatment protocols;
- Provision of primary care services to the workforce within, where this does not adversely affect the Paramedic's ability to provide medical emergency coverage;
- Management and administration including initial audit of equipment and medicines.
- Providing emergency response and patient transfers in Remote and Offshore locations may be required
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
To be considered you must have:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an intensive care paramedic
- Excellent clinical skills – ability to assess, diagnose and treat to aid early intervention
- Excellent emergency and advanced life support skills;
- Experience in training and development.
- Ability to work autonomously
- AHPRA Registration
- Advanced Life Support certificate
- Comfortable working in a process heavy environment
- Remote experience is a PLUS
- Must have work rights in Australia and live in Australia
- Candidates will ideally have a remote experience, however equivalent qualifications will be considered.
